TI-83 Games

Before you start: To use/view any games/programs for the TI-83, you're gonna need the TI-83 Graph-Link software (if you don't have the link itself) from Texas Instruments. If you don't have it, choose below from the list for the operating system you use.

* Download the Windows TI-Graph Link for the TI-83 v1.3 (392K)

* International version of the Windows TI-Graph Link for the TI-83 v1.3 (1195K)

* Download the Macintosh TI-Graph Link for the TI-83 v1.0.2 (427K)*

* International version of the Macintosh TI-Graph Link for the TI-83 v1.0.2 (427K)*

Now then, it's time to see some games. For each program, I hope to have the Program Name, it's filename, the amount of memory it takes on the calculator, a brief description, and a rating (out of 5 stars). P.S. Many of these programs are made for a TI-82, but will run on a TI-83. In the Graph-Link program, just choose "Convert TI-82 Program..." and you're all set. Likewise, many TI-83 games will work on TI-82s. I don't have access to a TI-82, so I don't know which ones will or will not work, so if there are any problems with any of them, e-mail me.

Program Name Size (In Bytes) Description
Arena (arena.zip) Appx. 12000 A new RPG/Fighting Game from Cidacia Software. The plot basically consists of kill the other guys in side-view combat, but between battles you can buy weapons and armor and use passwords to resume your game! Rating--*****
Boreal: BETA 4 (borealb4.zip) (screenshot) Doesn't matter: it's an OS, reset your calc. This is the best GUI for the TI I've seen. It now uses some ASM to make the pointer move fast. It is just like Windows 95, and from the Setup menu you can actually shut down the calc (another ASM goodie). Not many games for it yet, but Jareth Software, the creator, has converted some of Bill Nagel's excellent ASM games to Boreal format, and is converting others! Rating--*****
Checkers (checkers.zip) Appx. 3400 This game is great. When I brought this one to school, within two days everyone had it. It's a graphic version of the classic game Checker, where two players play against each other on the same calculator. Definitely worth a look. Ranking--*****
Dragster (dragster.zip) Appx. 5200 After the Assembly Games that have been released recently, it's been hard to impress me. But this game did. It was originally a .82P by Acme Software but it had a little error with a label. So in order to fix it, I had to convert it to .83P and change that line. You buy a dragster (3 to choose from) and upgrade it by winning money at races. You can also get money by gambling on other races! Very good graphics, and VERY addicting. Even when you lose all of your money if your car explodes, you'll sit there yelling at the calc, but you'll KEEP PLAYING! Rating--*****
Final Fantasy X³ (ffx383.zip) All of it and it still gives MEM errors! GET THIS GAME NOW IT IS THE BEST BASIC GAME EVER CREATED!!!!!! It's fast and enthralling and it will take you several DAYS to beat it! I love it, love it, love it! RATING--******
Hic-Quest (hicquest.zip) Appx. 2300 Your mission: drink enough beer to attain a 100% Blood Alcohol Level. You do this by beating up people (Everything from an Obnoxious Kid to a Dead Fetus to Ebola-Man) with a variety of weapons (ranging from fists to fence posts to 12 gauges) in 3 locales (Schoolyard, Post Office, and Hospital). This game is AWESOME!!! It's all text, and it's hilarious from beginning to end. However, once you beat it several times, it loses it's flair, but that takes at least a few days. Rating--*****
Link-Talk (linktalk.zip) Appx. 750 I made this program a couple of weeks ago, because somebody at school said, "Wouldn't it be cool if you could send messages over the link?" So I did. And it works, too! Just plug two TI-83s together with the included link, and start chatting. WARNING: I know this won't work on a TI-82, because the 82 and 83 use different communications commands. Mage Fire II (magefir2.txt) Appx. 6740. Requires 1090 free. For this, and all other text games, you'll have to load the file in a text-editor, and use the TI83PC font which came with the Graph-Link. This one is very long (about 12 pages), but worth typing in. It's alot like Final Fantasy and the similar RPGs for Nintendo, except it's text. It can be played against the calculator or 2-player over the Link. You choose 3 guys (from 5 different guys), and they choose 3, and then you fight each other. Most of my friends think this one is boring, but I love it, and if you're an RPG fan, you'll probably like it, too. Rating--*****
Magic 8-Ball (magic8.zip) Appx. 1000, includes Pic8 This was the first program I made. Basically during class I got bored and drew an 8-ball. Then, I thought it would be neat to add a randomly generated answer after someone asks a question, so I did it all. Not very useful, I'll admit that now, but fun to annoy people with. Rating--***
Star Trek (startrek.zip) (screenshot) ??? Alot. I actually hate the Star Trek shows, but this game is sooooo cool. It is a completely graphic battle between you and the Borg. AND IT'S ANIMATED! You see the shots hitting you, you see the Enterprise fire, and you see your final shot destroy the Borg Cube! Fairly easy, but with 5 or 6 skill levels. Rating--*****
Target Shoot Version 2.0 (target2.zip) Appx. 1400 This is the final version of Target Shoot (well, nobody outside my school saw the first versions anyway), where a target lies on the graph, and you guess the X and Y coordinates. Includes 3 difficulty levels. Rating--****
ULTIMA: The Avatar Adventures BETA 1(ultimab1.zip) Appx 10,000 Woo-Hoo! I finished the beta of my new FFX-inspired RPG, and (with no disregard to Alex Highsmith, creator of FFX) I think it's awesome! Beta contains 3 sections of overhead map, 2 enemies to battle, a castle to enter, all weapons and armom availavle, and includes a program which allows you to "hack" your saved games, making you invincible! Full version will include dozens of overhead maps, dungeons (possibly in 3-D), multiple towns, and 6 or 7 different enemies! Watch my page for info! Rating--******
Word-83 (word83.zip) Appx. 1600 Ooh, I am SO angry. I thought up the idea of a word processor for the TI-83 completely original, and I just found one on the internet!!! Well, this one is completely my own programming, and you can save your typing as a Pic. Rating--****
The Legend of Zelda (zelda2.zip) (screenshot) Unknown; a whole lot. An updated version of Zelda for the calculator! It's exactly like the old Nintendo version, except for the fight sequence. It uses pictures for maps, and the worlds are IDENTICAL to the original. You're probably not going to be able to have any other games on your calculator if you have this, and that is worth considering. Rating--*****
